Individual Profile — Steve Tisch

profile v1 Updated Mar 11, 2026

Research Corpus Note: This document draws on the DOJ Epstein Files corpus (the "EFTA" corpus). The DOJ Epstein Files release spans approximately 3.5 million pages across ~900,229 unique documents. Of these, text was successfully extracted from 900,196 documents (covering virtually the full corpus) through OCR and PDF text-extraction processing. All EFTA citations refer to documents in this extracted corpus unless otherwise noted. Additional post-corpus developments (post-February 2026) are noted where relevant and assessed separately.

Evidence Tier: B — Documented contact with corroborating detail. Tisch appears in multiple direct email exchanges with Epstein spanning 2013–2017. The primary documents include verbatim evidence of Tisch asking Epstein to classify a woman as a sex worker or civilian, and Epstein facilitating introductions to women at his townhouse with explicit language. Tisch is not alleged to have participated in criminal conduct and no victims have named him.

Who They Are

Steve Tisch (born February 14, 1949) is a prominent American film producer and the co-owner (alongside John Mara) of the New York Giants NFL franchise, inheriting that position from his father Bob Tisch. He is the nephew of Laurence Tisch, former chairman of CBS. As a film producer, his credits include Risky Business (1983), Forrest Gump (1994, Academy Award for Best Picture), American History X (1998), Snatch (2000), and The Pursuit of Happyness (2006). He holds both a Super Bowl ring and an Academy Award — an extremely rare combination in American public life.

Tisch is a prominent figure in New York and Los Angeles social circles, with connections across entertainment, media, sports, and finance.

Connection to Epstein — Overview

The EFTA corpus documents a personal friendship between Tisch and Epstein spanning at minimum 2013–2017. The friendship is documented through direct email correspondence, calendar entries, and scheduling records. The most significant exchange — the subject-line "Ukrainian Girl" email thread of April 26, 2013 — contains verbatim evidence of Tisch asking Epstein to classify a woman as a sex worker ("pro or civilian?"), with Epstein responding with an explicit physical description of a different woman and offering to share her contact details as a "shared interest friend."

The relationship extends beyond this single exchange to include a pattern of Tisch visiting or attempting to visit Epstein's Manhattan townhouse in contexts where Epstein was facilitating introductions to young women, and warm ongoing social contact through 2017.

Documented Role in the Epstein Investigation / Network

Tisch was not a subject of the DOJ's criminal investigation into Epstein. He appears in the corpus as a social contact and recipient of Epstein's facilitated introductions to women. The "pro or civilian?" exchange and subsequent May 1, 2013 thread are the primary evidentiary basis for his profile. There is no allegation that Tisch was involved in or had knowledge of Epstein's criminal conduct involving underage victims.

Allegations and Claims

No victim allegations against Tisch appear in the EFTA corpus or in public reporting as of the date of this profile.

The primary concern arising from the corpus documents is Tisch's use of the "pro or civilian?" formulation — which demonstrates awareness that Epstein's network included sex workers, and that Tisch was explicitly inquiring about a woman's professional status in those terms. The subsequent May 1 exchange shows Epstein offering to arrange for Tisch to "meet" a woman at his townhouse, and Tisch asking whether she was "coming over" in a context in which Epstein described another woman in explicitly sexual terms.

This Individual's Response

No public statement by Tisch addressing the EFTA corpus documents has been identified as of the date of this profile.

Legal and Professional Consequences

No legal proceedings, civil suits, or professional sanctions involving Tisch in connection with the EFTA corpus or Epstein relationship have been publicly reported.

Key Claims for DOJ Evidence Cross-Reference

  1. Tisch asked Epstein "pro or civilian?" about a woman he met at Epstein's home (April 26, 2013, subject: "Ukrainian Girl")
  2. Epstein responded with explicit physical descriptions of another woman and offered her contact as a "shared interest friend", simultaneously telling Tisch "send me a number to call I dont like records of these conversations"
  3. Epstein offered to "invite the Russian to meet" Tisch and later told him a named woman was free after 10:30pm and he could "come over first" (May 1, 2013)
  4. Tisch visited or was scheduled to visit Epstein's Manhattan townhouse on multiple evenings in 2013, on at least one occasion during the same evening as Ehud Barak and Mort Zuckerman
  5. Tisch and Todd Meister remained in warm social contact with Epstein through August 2017, more than four years after the "pro or civilian?" exchange

DOJ File Evidence

April 23, 2013 — Operational Setup: Sourcing Tisch's Assistant Contact (EFTA02141752) On April 23, 2013, someone in Epstein's network emailed Todd Meister: "Hi Todd... might you have a phone number or email address for Steve Tisch's assistant??" — operational groundwork for Tisch's introduction to Epstein's social circle, taking place three days before the "Ukrainian Girl" exchange.

Evidence Verdict — Setup email to Todd Meister: SUPPORTS ✅ (EFTA02141752)

April 26, 2013 — "Pro or Civilian?" / "Ukrainian Girl" (EFTA00959850, EFTA01975499) Full text confirmed. The email thread carries the subject line "Re: Ukrainian Girl." Tisch initiates (April 26, 2013): "Hi Jeffrey, I just had lunch with your assistant's friend [redacted]. Very sweet girl. Do you know anything about her? Thanks, Steve. [who I met at your house Wed morning]."

Epstein's reply: "no, but i will ask / (all confidential) I will get all info, did you contact the great ass fake tit... she's a character, short term, has an older boyfriend going to acting school, a 10 ass. I am happy to have you as a new but obviously shared interest friend."

Tisch's reply: "Thanks Jeffrey / Curious to know about [redacted]. I will contact [redacted]... pro or civilian?"

Epstein's final reply: "send me a number to call I dont like records of these conversations."

The subject line "Ukrainian Girl" was applied by whoever archived or processed the email, and refers to the woman Tisch met at Epstein's house. Tisch's "pro or civilian?" inquiry asks explicitly whether the woman was a sex worker. Epstein's instruction to move to a phone call and his statement that he does not "like records of these conversations" demonstrates awareness of the sensitivity of the exchange.

Evidence Verdict — "Pro or civilian?" exchange, subject "Ukrainian Girl": SUPPORTS ✅ (EFTA00959850, EFTA01975499)

May 1, 2013 — "Can I Expect 'Trouble'?" / Evening Visit Coordination (EFTA01762335, EFTA00960167) On May 1, 2013, a multi-exchange thread spans the afternoon and evening. The thread opens with Epstein inviting Tisch to "stop by after [his meetings]? ill be home you missed some fun." Epstein adds an early-afternoon reference: "do you want to catch up with Woody and I on our walk?" (referring to Woody Allen, who is referenced elsewhere in Epstein's social calendar).

As the evening approaches, Epstein offers: "I can invite the Russian to meet if you like." Tisch replies: "Can I expect 'trouble'?" Epstein: "of course." Tisch: "Is she fun?" Epstein: "do you mean, is she as funny as Woody, no; you missed a great laughing walk, she's a character."

Later (EFTA00960167, continuation): Epstein: "she is free after 10:30 she said, you can meet her, you can come over first, talk about [whatever], whatever you want... I am leaving now home at 9:30 if you want to contact her directly." Tisch: "Is [she] coming over?" Tisch follows up: "Never heard back from [her]." Epstein, shortly after midnight: "are you coming?"

The exchange shows Epstein actively facilitating a late-night introduction between Tisch and an unnamed woman ("the Russian"), with Tisch expressing anticipation ("Can I expect 'trouble'?") and following up on whether the meeting would occur.

Evidence Verdict — "Can I expect 'trouble'?" / late-night facilitated introduction: SUPPORTS ✅ (EFTA01762335, EFTA00960167)

June 3, 2013 — Calendar Entry: Tisch Visiting Epstein's Townhouse (EFTA02137434, EFTA02137061) EFTA02137434 is an internal scheduling note from Lesley Groff to Epstein's household staff: "Jeffrey says Steve Tisch might come over around 7–7:30 tonight. snacks for everyone!" The same document reveals that day's full schedule: 4:00pm — Ehud Barak (with note about a book gift); 6:00pm — Mort Zuckerman; 7–7:30pm — Steve Tisch; 8:00pm — unnamed person.

EFTA02137061 is the corresponding calendar entry: "7–7:30pm Steve Tisch might come over / TUES. JUNE 4, 2013 NY" (date discrepancy between the scheduling note and calendar entry may reflect a one-day offset in the calendar system).

This places Tisch in Epstein's Manhattan social schedule in company with Ehud Barak (former Israeli PM, Epstein's close associate) and Mort Zuckerman (media magnate). The casual, recurring nature of such visits — coordinated through household staff with food prepared — indicates Tisch was an accepted and expected social caller at Epstein's townhouse.

Evidence Verdict — Calendar scheduling for Tisch evening visit alongside Barak/Zuckerman: SUPPORTS ✅ (EFTA02137434, EFTA02137061)

August 13–14, 2017 — Ongoing Social Contact (EFTA00695106, EFTA02640525) Full text confirmed. August 13, 2017: Tisch messages Epstein: "Hi Jeffrey, How are you? Todd Meister and I had a fun lunch today. We were talking very fondly about you. I hope you are having a great Summer. Best, Steve Tisch." He asks: "Are you in the city?" Epstein responds: "Come visit", then notes he's headed to the Caribbean Thursday. Tisch: "Ok. Going back to LA tomorrow. Let's stay in touch." Epstein (August 14, 2017, 1:02am): "what new things are you up to."

This exchange — occurring four years after the "pro or civilian?" exchange and in the same year as Attia's O-1 visa exchange — shows Tisch maintaining a warm, casual friendship with Epstein, invoking Todd Meister as a shared connection who speaks "fondly" of Epstein.

Evidence Verdict — Ongoing warm social contact, August 2017: SUPPORTS ✅ (EFTA00695106, EFTA02640525)

Summary Assessment

Steve Tisch is a Tier B figure in the EFTA corpus. The evidence establishes a documented personal friendship with Epstein spanning 2013–2017, characterised by recurring social visits to Epstein's Manhattan townhouse, warm ongoing correspondence, and — most significantly — the verbatim "pro or civilian?" inquiry in the April 26, 2013 "Ukrainian Girl" thread.

The "pro or civilian?" exchange is the clearest documentary evidence in the corpus that a named social contact of Epstein's was knowingly asking Epstein to classify women in his network by whether they were sex workers. Combined with the May 1 thread — in which Epstein offers to arrange a late-night meeting with "the Russian," Tisch asks "can I expect 'trouble'?", and Epstein confirms it, then coordinates logistics — the corpus documents a pattern of Epstein facilitating introductions to women for Tisch in a context where the sexual dimension was explicit.

Epstein's instruction in the "Ukrainian Girl" thread — "send me a number to call I dont like records of these conversations" — is notable as evidence that Epstein himself recognised the sensitivity of these exchanges and sought to move them off written record. The email was nonetheless preserved in the corpus.

No victim allegations against Tisch have emerged. His role is that of a social beneficiary of Epstein's facilitated introductions, not an alleged participant in Epstein's criminal conduct. The calendar record placing him on the same evening schedule as Ehud Barak and Mort Zuckerman contextualises Tisch as one of many prominent figures who moved through Epstein's townhouse social world during this period.
